The MEIC engages in short research initiatives that are led by our industry and academic partners, collaboratively developed via MEIC Working Groups. Research focuses on current trends and challenges, and outcomes include rapid prototyping, user behaviour insights, business model development and commercialization opportunities, academic assessment of industry need, and many others.

For more information on how to propose an initiative or get involved, please contact Michele Perras, MEIC Project Manager at mperras@ocad.ca.

Mobile Literacy

MEIC's Mobile Literacy Group has created simple explanations for twelve common wireless terms, like '3G' and 'short code'.  Sign-up here to receive a weekly text message from short code 333111, containing a new definition. Additionally, free video clips with more detailed explanations can been seen below.

This project was collaboratively developed by the MEIC Mobile Literacy Working Group, over a 6 month duration. It's aims include enriching the body of wireless knowledge to the general public and creating an easily accessible and fun means to engage with this knowledge over an extended period of time.
